Sludge Waste

Sludge is the end result of the treatment process of waste water. Sludge in general concentrates heavy metals and potentially pathogenic organisms such as viruses and bacteria. The amount of heavy metals, as well as its high water content, makes sludge unsuitable for landfilling because of possible harmful effects on soil, vegetation, animals, and people.

IWI’s Dual Reactor Systems are ideal for sludge disposal for the following reasons:

  • They destroy organic matter and living organisms within the sludge, eliminating potential health hazards.
  • They cost less and are safer than landfilling.
  • They don’t require a large area of space, and there are minimum transportation costs.
  • Less pollutants.
